Chapter 2. APPLICATION BASICS
Edit Menu
Use the Edit menu to work with the content of an open record. Edit menu commands are listed and described in the following table.

Undo |
ALT+E U or CTRL+Z |
Cancels (undoes) the most recently executed command or action. Repeated selection of Undo will continue to cancel prior actions, in the reverse order in which they were performed, up to the last 500 actions. |
Restore Current Field |
ALT+E F or ALT+1 |
Restores the current field to its most recently saved condition. |
Restore the Record |
ALT+E R or ALT+2 |
Displays the Restore Confirmation dialog, allowing you to restore the currently active record to its most recently saved version. |
Delete the Record |
ALT+E D |
Displays the Delete Confirmation dialog, allowing you to delete the currently active record from the database. |
Cut |
ALT+E T or CTRL+X |
Cuts an entire field (or selected text) from the currently active record. The field (or selected text) is placed on the clipboard, and can be pasted back into the same record or into a different record, as desired. |
Copy |
ALT+E C or CTRL+C |
Copies an entire field (or selected text) from the currently active record. The field (or selected text) is placed on the clipboard, and can be pasted into the same record at a new location or into a different record, as desired. |
Paste |
ALT+E P or CTRL+V |
Retrieves a field (or selected text) that has been placed on the clipboard and inserts it into the currently active record at the cursor location (for selected text) or above the field where the cursor is currently located (for an entire field). |
Cut all HLD |
ALT+E A |
Cuts all HLD fields from the currently active record. The fields are placed on the HLD field clipboard, and can be pasted back into the same record or into a different record, as desired. |
Copy all HLD |
ALT+E Y |
Copies all HLD fields from the currently active record. The fields are placed on the HLD Field clipboard, and can be pasted into the same record or into a different record, as desired. |
Paste all HLD |
ALT+E E |
Retrieves all HLD fields placed on the HLD field clipboard and inserts them into the currently active record at the top of the record. |
Leader |
ALT+E L |
Displays the Edit Leader by Positions dialog, allowing you to change record leader information. |
Tag 007 |
ALT+E 7 |
Displays the Field 007 dialog, allowing you to edit the fixed positional data elements of the 007 field. |
Tag 008 |
ALT+E 8 |
Displays the Field 008 dialog, allowing you to edit the fixed positional data elements of the 008 field. |
Default HLD |
ALT+E L |
Displays the Default HLD Field screen, allowing you to specify the default data included when a new HLD tag is inserted in the record. |
Default 091 |
ALT+E 0 |
Displays the Default 091 Field screen, allowing you to specify the default data included when a new 091 tag is inserted in the record. |

Displays the Options dialog, allowing you to customize certain operating parameters of AGCat. |
Workform |
ALT+E W or CTRL+K |
Displays the Workform Maintenance dialog, allowing you to select a preconfigured "blank" workform for modification. |
Normalize HLD |
ALT+E N or CTRL+M |
Normalizes (deduplicates) and sorts all <HLD> tags based on a specified normalization routine. |
Sort HLD |
ALT+E H or CTRL+T |
Sorts all <HLD> tags in the currently active record, in alphanumeric
order.
NOTE: The Sort HLD command does not deduplicate <HLD> tags. To sort and deduplicate <HLD> tags, use the Normalize HLD command. |
Sort fields |
ALT+E S |
Sorts all tags in the currently active record, in numeric order. |
