Checkin In Transit Receipt Setup

When an inter-branch reserve item is in transit to the lending library (the item is being returned), and the item is checked in at a library other than the lending (owning) library, the system generates an “in transit receipt” indicating the library to which the item should be returned. The system also generates an email to the lending library.

You can configure a unique Checkin In Transit Receipt for each location in your system.

To set up the Checkin In Transit Receipt:

  1. image of Checkin In Transit Receipt ScreenFrom the Circ Admin menu, select Notices - Checkin In Transit Receipt.
    • The Checkin In Transit Receipt screen displays.
    • The Checkin In Transit Receipt screen is comprised of the For field, Notice Header field, Notification Text field and Email Notice Setup field.
  2. Select the location for which the Checkin In Transit Receipt is being set up from the For menu.
    • The For menu lists all currently defined locations for your system.
    • The Home Location for your user account is initially selected by default from the For menu.
  3. Enter or edit the Checkin In Transit Receipt header information in the Notice Header field.
    • The Notice Header field contains a 5-line arrangement of text boxes, into which you will enter or edit the text for the Checkin In Transit Receipt header.
    • Enter or edit the text for the Checkin In Transit Receipt header in the Line 1 through Line 5 text boxes, as desired.

    Text will not automatically wrap from one line to the next. Use the Tab key to move from line to line.

  4. Enter or edit Checkin In Transit Receipt text in the Notification Text field.
  5. Complete the appropriate Email Notice Setup information:
    • Enter a subject for the email notice in the Email Notice Subject text box.
    • Enter the name of the appropriate library staff member or department in the Email Notice From Name text box.
    • Enter the desired email address from which the notice will be sent in the Email Notice From Address text box.
    • If you wish copies of all Checkin In Transit Receipts sent to be sent to a library staff member (to confirm the receipt), enter the email address to which you wish the copies sent in the CC Email Address text box.
  6. Click the Submit button to save your changes to the Checkin In Transit Receipts to your library’s database.
