Managing Custom Sound Files
You can upload a “custom” sound file to replace the VERSO Default sound for one or more circulation activities/events. You can also delete “custom” sound files and return to the VERSO Default sounds.
“Custom” sound files must be prepared in MP3 format.
To upload a “custom” sound file:
- On the Manage Sounds screen, click the Upload link in the ACTION column
for the EVENT for which you wish to upload a “custom” sound file.

The Upload Sound File dialog displays in an additional browser window.

- Click the Browse button to locate the desired sound file.
- A standard Windows Choose File to Upload dialog displays.
- Locate the desired sound file, then click the Open button.
- The Choose File to Upload dialog closes automatically, and the full path and file name for the selected sound file are added to the Upload Sound File dialog.
- Click the Submit button on the Upload Sound File dialog to upload the
file.
- The Upload Sound File screen refreshes to display the message “The file was successfully uploaded.”
- Click the Close button on the Upload Sound Files dialog to close the
dialog.
- The “custom” sound file will now play at each occurrence of the associated EVENT.
To delete a “custom” sound file:
- On the Manage Sounds screen, click the Delete link in the ACTION column for
the EVENT for which you wish to delete the custom sound.
- The Manage Sounds screen refreshes with the “custom” sound file removed. “VERSO Default” is shown in the SOUND FILE column for the associated EVENT.
- The “VERSO Default” sound file will now play at each occurrence of the associated EVENT.
