Chapter 2. SUBSCRIPTION SETUP
Subscription Setup - Overview
Subscription Setup lets you create and maintain a record for each serial subscription your library receives. The subscription record identifies the name of the vendor supplying the serial, the subscription start and stop dates, and may also include a prediction algorithm (describing the frequency and enumeration of issues), a claiming schedule, routing lists, and information for automatically creating item records when issues are received (checked in).
NOTE: Before you can create a subscription record, your library's bibliographic database must contain a bibliographic record for the serial title for which you wish to create the subscription record. If a record is not currently available in your library's database, you can import a record for the desired item from an external database, enter a new record manually (refer to the AGCat Client User Guide for information on adding bibliographic records to your library's database), or add a brief bibliographic record (see Adding a Brief Record for details).
NOTE: A vendor record for the vendor who will be filling the subscription must be available in your library's database before you can create a subscription record (refer to Chapter 5, File Maintenance, for information on adding vendor records to your library's database).
