Chapter 1. INTRODUCTION
Using the Formatting Toolbar
Certain text fields throughout UX Administration provide access to a “formatting” toolbar that lets you apply style elements to selected text.
Features and functions that can be accessed through the “formatting” toolbar are described below.

Inserts a hyperlink. | |
Applies “blockquote” style to selected text. | |
Applies bold formatting to text. | |
Applies italic formatting to text. | |
Applies underscore formatting to text. | |
Aligns text to the left. | |
Aligns text to the center. | |
Aligns text to the right. | |
Justifies text between the left and right margins. |
To select text:
- To select a single word, position the cursor in the desired word, then double-click the left mouse button.
- To select a paragraph, position the cursor in the paragraph, then triple-click the left mouse button.
- To select two or more contiguous words, position the cursor at the beginning of the first word, click and hold the left mouse button, then drag the cursor across the desired words.
- To select all text in a text box, press and hold the <Ctrl> key, then press A.
To apply formatting to selected text:
- To apply a predefined paragraph format, click the Heading 1 button , Heading 2 button , Heading 3 button or Blockquote button , as desired.
- To apply a style to text, click the Bold, Italic, and/or Underscore button, as desired.
- To specify text alignment, click the Align Left, Align Center, Align Right or Full Justify button, as desired.
- To insert a hyperlink:
- Click the Link button; the “Enter Link” field displays.
- Enter the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for the page to which you wish to link in the Paste or type a link text box.
NOTE: Be sure to include http:// or https://, as appropriate.
- Click the Save icon to save the link.
