Chapter 3. USING AGCat
Using "Drag and Drop"
AGCat includes a "drag and drop" function that lets you reposition a field within an active record, copy and position a field within an active record, and copy a field from one record to a selected location in another record.
To move a field in an active record:
- Position the cursor in the field you wish to copy, in front of the tag number.
- Click and hold the left mouse button.
- The selected field is highlighted by a green box.
- Continue holding the left mouse button and drag the cursor to the location
to which you wish to move the field.
- The selected location is indicated by a brown "position bar".
- Release the mouse button.
- The selected field is moved to the selected location.
To copy and move a field in an active record:
- Position the cursor in the field you wish to copy, in front of the tag number.
- Click and hold the left mouse button.
- The selected field is highlighted by a green box.
- Press and hold the <Ctrl> key on the keyboard.
- Continue holding the left mouse button and the <Ctrl> key, and drag the
cursor to the location to which you wish to copy the field.
- The selected location is indicated by a brown "position bar".
- Release the mouse button and <Ctrl> key.
- The selected field is copied to the selected location.
To copy and move a field to a new record:
- Make sure both the source record (the record from which you wish to copy the field) and the destination record (the record to which you wish to copy the field) are open.
- In the source record, position the cursor in the field you wish to copy, in front of the tag number.
- Click and hold the left mouse button.
- The selected field is highlighted by a green box.
- Continue holding the left mouse button and drag the cursor to the
destination record. Position the cursor in the location to which you wish to
copy the field.
- The selected location is indicated by a brown "position bar".
- Release the mouse button.
- The selected field is copied from the source record to the selected location in the destination record.
