Chapter 3. USING THE MARC EDITOR
Navigating and Typing
Use the following methods to position the cursor and enter text in an active record:
- Use the <Tab> key to move forward between tags, indicators and subfields.
- Use the Shift+Tab keys to move backward between tags, indicators and subfields.
- Use the directional (arrow) keys to position the cursor within the
currently active record:
- Use the Ctrl+up arrow keys to move up a tag row
- Use the Ctrl+down arrow keys to move down a tag row
- When positioned in a subfield, use the <Home> key to position the cursor at the beginning of the subfield.
- When positioned in a subfield, use the <End> key to position the cursor at the end of the subfield.
- When positioned in a subfield, use the < and > keys to move the cursor left or right one character at a time.
- Use the <Backspace> or <Delete> keys to delete individual characters or symbols.
NOTE: Use the Save function frequently while editing a record to avoid data loss (see Saving Records for details).
