Managing Expired Patrons

The Expired Patron Maintenance function provides for “bulk” processing of user records of patrons for whom borrowing privileges have expired. You may select to change the expiration date in the affected user records, or delete the affected user records from your VERSO database.

To process expired patron records:

    • The Modify/Delete Patron Expiration Date screen displays.
  2. Select the operation you wish to perform on the selected user records from the Option menu:
    • Change Expiration Date: Changes the expiration date in the selected user records to a specified new expiration date.
    • Delete Selected Patrons: Deletes the selected user records from your VERSO database.
  3. Select the patron category for which you wish to process expired patron records from the Patron Category menu.
    • The Patron Category menu lists all patron categories currently defined for your library. Select the desired patron category, or select All to process expired patron records for all patron categories.
  4. Enter the desired expiration date for the patron records you wish to process in the Select patrons with expiration date prior to text box.
    • All patron records with expiration dates on or prior to the specified date will be included in processing.
    • Enter the desired date using the format “MM/DD/YYYY.”
  5. If Change Expiration Date was selected from the Option menu, enter the new expiration date to be applied to the selected records in the New expiration Date text box.

  6. When all appropriate information has been entered, click the Submit button to process the selected patron records.
    • A confirmation screen displays your specified setup parameters, and the Number of Patrons found (the number of affected patron records in your VERSO database).
  7. Click the Submit button to process the selected records.
    • When processing is complete, the confirmation screen refreshes to display the message “These patron’s expiration dates have been changed.”
