CIRCULATION ADMINISTRATION

Chapter 1. INTRODUCTION

Multiple Language Support

VERSO’s optional Multiple Language Support feature allows the VERSO OPAC (Search) interface to be configured for display in a language other than English. Currently available display languages include Spanish, French and Chinese. The desired default display language can be configured at the consortium or library level. Library guests may select a display language other than the default language at login. Staff members and library patrons may configure their own desired display language using the My Preferences feature. Administrative tools have been added to Circulation Administration to facilitate maintenance of foreign language translations when configuring circulation parameters and options that are reflected in the OPAC.

If your library or consortium has purchased VERSO’s multiple language option, some data entry screens will include data fields for each language supported by your VERSO system. In some cases, screens include Translate or Language buttons. Clicking these buttons will display a data entry screen where you can enter the English and foreign language translations for the associated field. BE SURE to enter the foreign language translation for each appropriate field. If you omit a translation for a given field, that field will be blank when VERSO is viewed in the associated foreign language.
