Chapter 7. SETTING CIRCULATION PARAMETERS

   

 


Setting Brief Record Options

The Brief Record Options function lets you specify the “mandatory” fields when adding a brief bibliographic record using the Add Brief Record form, and configure the default setting for the Auto Delete at Checkin option.

To set brief record options:

  1. From the Circ Admin menu, select Brief Record Options.
    • The Brief Record Required Fields screen displays. The screen lists all fields included on the Add Brief Record screen.

  1. Use the Author, ISBN, Item Call Number, Current Location and Material Type checkboxes provided to indicate which fields will be “mandatory” fields when adding a brief record through the Circulation module or CAT Administration module.

    NOTE: The Title and Status fields are “system required” and are always mandatory.

    • A checkmark checkmark indicates the associated field is mandatory.
    • An empty checkbox checkbox indicates the associated field is not mandatory.
    • Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  2. Use the Auto Delete at Checkin checkbox to set the default state for the Auto Delete at Checkin field on the Add Brief Record form.
    • A checkmark checkmark indicates the Auto Delete at Checkin checkbox on the Add Brief Record form is selected by default.
    • An empty checkbox checkbox indicates the Auto Delete at Checkin checkbox on the Add Brief Record form is deselected by default.
    • Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  3. When brief record options have been configured as desired, click the Submit button to save your changes.
