Setting Reserve Notes Notification Parameters

When the Allow Staff Reserve Notes and/or Allow Patron Reserve Notes options are enabled (see Setting Circulation Options for details), VERSO can be configured to send an email to a specified email address any time a Reserve is initially placed or when a Reserve Note is added or updated.

Reserve Notes emails include the Patron Name and Patron Barcode of the patron for whom the reserve is placed.

To set the Reserve Notes notification parameters:

  1. From the Circ Admin menu, select Reserve Notes Notification Parameters.

  2. Use the Notify via Email if Patron Reserve Note is Placed or Updated checkbox to specify whether an email will be sent when a reserve is initially placed, or when a patron Reserve Note is added or updated.
    • A checkmark image of selected checkbox indicates an email will be sent when a patron Reserve Note is added or updated. An empty checkbox image of unselected checkbox indicates an email will not be sent when a patron Reserve Note is added or updated. Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  3. Enter a subject line for the email in the associated Notify Email Subject text text box.
  4. Enter the email address of the staff member you wish to receive notification when a patron Reserve Note is added or updated in the associated Staff Recipient Email Address text box.
  5. Use the Notify via Email if Staff Reserve Note is Updated checkbox to specify whether an email will be sent when a staff Reserve Note is updated.
    • A checkmark image of selected checkbox indicates an email will be sent when a staff Reserve Note is updated. An empty checkbox image of unselected checkbox indicates an email will not be sent when a staff Reserve Note is updated. Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  6. Enter a subject line for the email in the associated Notify Email Subject text text box.
  7. Enter the email address of the staff member you wish to receive notification when a staff Reserve Note is updated in the associated Staff Recipient Email Address text box.
  8. When all parameters have been specified, click the Submit button to save your changes.
    • The Circulation Administration “Welcome” screen displays.
