Chapter 2. CHECK OUT AND CHECK IN
Emailing Check Out Transaction Receipts
VERSO provides an option allowing receipts for checkout transactions to be sent to the patron via email. This functionality is enabled through the Circulation Administration module (see the Circulation Administration User Guide for more information). When the email functionality is enabled, the Patron Status, Checkout & Reserves screen includes an Email Receipts button.
NOTE: If an email address is not included in the patron’s User Record, the screen includes a No Email Address button. You may still send the receipt via email by manually entering an email address.
To email a check out transaction receipt:
- If an email address IS included in the patron’s User Record:
- Click the Email Receipts button.
- The confirmation message “The email has been sent” displays momentarily.
- Click the Email Receipts button.

If an email address IS NOT included in the patron’s User Record:
- Click the No Email Address button.
- An Enter Email Address dialog displays.
- Click the No Email Address button.
- To send the receipt, enter a valid email address in the text box provided, then click the Submit and Email button. (To cancel the email request, click the Cancel button.)
- The confirmation message “The email has been sent” displays momentarily.
NOTE: To add an email address to the patron’s User Record, click the Patron Edit button (see Editing Patrons for details).
