In Transit Reserve Processing

In Transit Reserve Processing is designed to support management and processing of “reserved items” between library branches. The system uses the permanent and/or current location of the item, the Home Location of the staff member performing the checkin operation, and the Home Location of the patron holding the reserve to display the necessary messaging and to generate the “In Transit” receipts required to ensure proper processing of the reserved item while in transit.

NOTE: The Home Location affiliations for library staff and library patrons are assigned through the User Administration module (see the User Administration User Guide for more information).

NOTE: If the Home Location for the staff member performing the checkin operation and/or the patron holding the reserve is set to Not Assigned, checkin and reserve processing is accomplished in the normal manner.
