Chapter 2. CHECK OUT AND CHECK IN
Viewing In-Transit Items
The system provides two options for viewing “in transit” items. You may select to view items in transit To My Library from another library branch or items in transit From My Library to another library branch.
To view items in transit to your library:

From the Circulation menu
(see The
Circulation Menu for details), select In Transit Items - To My Library.
- The Items In Transit - To My Library screen displays. By default, the screen shows a listing of items in transit to your library from all other library branches, in alphanumeric order by Title.
- Each line in the list provides the following information:
- The library branch from which the item is in transit (From Library).
- The Title, item Barcode and Call Number for the item in transit.
NOTE: The Barcode serves as a link to the Item Status function (see Viewing Item Status for details).
- The Type of In Transit; either Reserve In Transit (for items being supplied to your library by another library branch) or Check-in In Transit (for items being returned to your library from another library).
- The name of the Patron for whom the item is reserved, and the Patron Barcode for the patron.
- The Date on which the item was placed in transit.
- Whether or not the in transit item is Overdue for check in by your library, either Yes or No.
- Use the scrollbar to view the entire list.
- If desired, you can filter the list to show only those items in transit
from a specified library, or to only those items of a specified type of in
transit.
- To filter the list to show only those items in transit from a
specified library, select the desired library from the From menu.
NOTE: To return the list to items in transit from all libraries, select All Locations from the From menu.
- To filter the list to show only those items of a specified type of in
transit, select the desired in transit type from the Type of In Transit
menu, either Check-in In Transit or Reserve In Transit.
NOTE: To return the list to items in transit from all in transit types, select All In Transit from the Type of In Transit menu.
- To filter the list to show only those items in transit from a
specified library, select the desired library from the From menu.
- If desired, you can re-sort the list using any column head as the sort
key. To re-sort the list:
- Position the cursor on the column head you wish to use as a sort key, then click the Sort Menu icon to display the sort options menu.
- Select the desired sort option; either Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.
- The list is re-sorted according to the selected sort key and sort option.
NOTE: To reset the list to the default sort order, select Remove Sort from the sort options menu.
- To print the In Transit Items – To My Library list:
- Click the Print button.
- A formatted version of the In Transit Items – To My Library list displays in an additional browser window or tab.
- Use the standard procedures for your browser to print the list.
- Click the Print button.
To view items in transit from your library:
