Chapter 3. MANAGING PATRONS
Managing Household Members
Click the Household tab at the top of the Patron Checkout, Status & Reserves screen to display the Household page. The User name, Barcode and patron Type (Patron Category) for the currently selected user are shown at the top of the page. If the current patron is the primary account holder for all other linked accounts, the notation (Primary Household Member) is shown following the patron Type. The Household page of the Patron Checkout, Status & Reserves screen provides a listing of household members who’s user records are “linked” to the current patron’s user record. You can add new household members or remove existing household members, as desired.
NOTE: Household members can be added and removed only from the Primary Household Member’s account.
To view household members:
The Household page shows a “brief” record for each household member “linked” to the current patron’s user record. Each brief record shows the following information:
- Name – the name of the household member
NOTE: If the current patron is not the Primary Household Member, the notation (Primary) is shown next to the name of the Primary Household Member.
- Barcode – the household member’s barcode; click a Barcode link to display the Patron Checkout, Status & Reserves screen for the associated household member
- Category – the Patron Category to which the household member is assigned
- Phone Number – the household member’s primary phone number
- Cell Phone – the household member’s cell phone number
- Email – the household member’s email address
- Email Account Info – shows the day of the week on which account information is emailed to the household member (if the household member has selected not to receive account information via email, this field is blank)
- Comments – text entered in the Comment field in the household member’s User Record
- Total Items Out – the total number of items currently checked out to the patron (excluding any items declared as “lost”)
- Overdue – the total number of items currently checked out to the patron for which the due date has expired (excluding any items declared as “lost”)
- Oldest Overdue – the number of days by which the oldest item is overdue
- Accrued Overdue Fines – the total amount of accrued fines on overdue items
- Reserved / Reserved for Checkout – the total number of items for which “soft” / “hard” reserves have been placed for the household member
- Total Fines/Fees – the current fines/fees balance for the household member; if the household member has available funds on deposit with the library, this value is shown in parentheses.
- Lost Items – the total number of items declared “lost” that are associated with the household member
