Chapter 3. MANAGING PATRONS

 

 

Viewing Phone Notification History

The Phone Notification History function lets you view a record of notices transmitted to patrons by telephone during a selected time period.

NOTE: Phone Notification is a purchasable enhancement, and may not be enabled for all systems.

To view Phone Notification History:

  1. From the Circulation menu (see The Circulation Menu for details), select Phone Notification History.
    • The Phone Notification History screen displays.

  1. Enter the starting date of the period for which you wish to view phone notification history in the Start date text box. Enter the Start date using the format “MM/DD/YYYY”, i.e., “12/31/2018.” Select the starting time using the associated hour, minute and AM/PM menus.
    • You may also click the Date Entry Calendar icon Date Entry Calendar icon next to the Start date text box to select a Start date using the Date Entry Calendar (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
  2. Enter the ending date of the period for which you wish to view phone notification history in the End date text box. Enter the End date using the format “MM/DD/YYYY”, i.e., “12/31/2018.” Select the ending time using the associated hour, minute and AM/PM menus.
    • You may also click the Date Entry Calendar icon icon next to the End date text box to select a End date using the Date Entry Calendar (see the System Basics User Guide for details). 
  3. Click the Submit button to submit the report request.
    • The screen refreshes to display phone notification history for the specified report period.

  1. The Phone Notification History screen provides summary of Telephone Notification Results and an itemized listing of all telephone notifications sent during the specified time period.
    • The Telephone Notification Results field shows a summary of phone notification history for the specified time period, including the number of notifications delivered successfully (Delivered by Phone - Success), the number of notifications not delivered successfully (Delivered by Phone - Failure) and the number of failed notifications delivered by other means (Failures next Step), either Email or Paper.
    • The itemized listing of phone notifications shows the Item Barcode and Title of the item for which the notification was sent, the User barcode and User name of the patron to whom the notification was sent, the type of notice (Transaction Type), the date on which notification was sent (PNS Date) and the system-generated reference number (PNSRefNumber) for the notification. Use the Previous and Next links to scroll the list backwards and forwards.
  2. If desired, click the Format to Print button to print the Phone Notification History report.
    • The screen refreshes to display a “printable” version of the report.
    • Click the Print button.
      • A standard Print dialog displays.
    • Make the appropriate selections on the Print dialog, then click the OK or Print button, as applicable. (Click the Cancel button to cancel the print request.)
  3. Click the Close button Close Button to close the Phone Notification History screen.
