Chapter 1. GETTING STARTED
The Serials Menu
The Serials menu provides access to features and functions related to management of your library’s serials subscriptions.
To access the Serials menu:
- Click the Staff Dashboard link on any screen in the Search
interface.
- The Staff Dashboard screen displays. The Dashboard displays all staff menus available for your user account.
- The Serials Staff Menu provides access to the following options:
- Checkin - Lets you check in issues for a new or continuing subscription
- Subscription Setup - Lets you create a new serial subscription, or change/edit an existing serial subscription.
- View All Checkin - Displays a list of all active (new and continuing) subscriptions, and lets you check in issues for a selected subscription
- Claiming - Displays the Claiming submenu, from which you can generate Claim Letters for missing or damaged issues.
- Extract Claims - Lets you extract claims for missing or damaged issues for a selected library location, or for all library locations.
- Review Claims- Lets you review and approve extracted claims, print the claims list, and delete items from the claims list.
- File Maintenance - Displays the File Maintenance submenu, from which you can create and maintain Claim Letters, vendor records and Routing Lists.
- Vendor - Lets you create and maintain a vendor record for each vendor from which your library receives serials.
- Routing - Lets you create and maintain Routing Lists that can be selectively associated with individual serials subscriptions.
- Add Brief Record - Lets you add a brief bibliographic record to your library’s database.
- Click the Home button to return to the Search interface.
