Chapter 1. GETTING STARTED
Organization of the User Guide
This User Guide is designed to provide an overview of the features and functions of Serials, and includes the detailed procedures for managing and processing serials subscriptions. The User Guide is divided into five chapters, as follows:
Chapter 1 – Getting Started. This chapter explains how to prepare to use Serials. The chapter includes hardware/software requirements, system availability, and system Login and Logoff.
Chapter 2 – Serials Check In. This chapter provides the procedures to check in issues for new and continuing subscriptions.
Chapter 3 – Subscription Setup. This chapter provides the procedures to create a new serials subscription, and to edit an existing serials subscription.
Chapter 4 – Claiming. This chapter provides the procedures to generate Claim Letters for missing or damaged issues.
Chapter 5 – File Maintenance. This chapter provides the procedures to create and maintain Claim Letters, vendor records and Routing Lists.
