The Staff Dashboard
The Staff Dashboard displays all staff menus available for your user account. The Staff Dashboard includes a search option to aid in locating a specific staff feature or function. The Staff Dashboard can be displayed in either “collapsed” or “expanded” format.
To access the Staff Dashboard:

Click
the Staff Dashboard link on any screen in the Search interface,
or, press the Ctrl+B keys.
- The Staff Dashboard displays.
- The Staff Dashboard includes a separate staff menu for each staff module available through your user account, as well as a Quick Links menu (see Using the Quick Links Menu (from the Staff Dashboard) for more information).
- Your “primary staff menu” is shown in the in the upper left corner of the
dashboard, next to the Quick Links menu. The remaining menus are
arranged in the order specified by your system administrator.
- You select your “primary staff menu” menu using the Your Preferences function available through the Your Account menu (see the RESEARCHit Search User Guide or VERSO Search User Guide for more information).
- When you initially access the Staff Dashboard from the Search interface
during a session, the dashboard is displayed in “collapsed” format (only the
Quick Links menu, which cannot be collapsed, and your “primary staff
menu” are expanded).
- Click the Toggle Menu link to expand all menus. Click again to collapse all menus.
- To toggle an individual menu, click the Collapse Menu
icon
for the desired menu to collapse the menu. Click the Expand Menu
icon
to expand the menu.
NOTE: Any changes you make to the expanded/collapsed state of staff menus are retained when you exit and subsequently return to the Staff Dashboard for the duration of your current session.
To search the Staff Dashboard:
NOTE: When you access the staff dashboard, the cursor is placed in the Search Staff Dashboard field by default.
- Enter your search term (the name of the feature or function you wish to
locate) in the Search Staff Dashboard field.
- The Staff Dashboard refreshes as you type to display only those headings, features and functions that contain your search term.
- Click the Clear Search icon to delete the text from the Search Staff Dashboard field to display all staff menus available for your user account.
To select a function:
- If necessary, expand the staff menu containing the desired function.
- Click the desired function.
- The screen for the selected function displays.
- “Quick Link” buttons (see Using the Quick Links Menu (from the Staff Dashboard) for details) and a “quick access” link (see Using the Staff Menu Side Panel for details) are shown at the top of the screen.
To return to the most recently accessed function:
- Press the CTRL+L keys.
- The screen for the most recently accessed function displays.
To return to the Staff Dashboard from the current staff function:
- Click the Staff Dashboard link, or, press the CTRL+B keys.
- The Staff Dashboard displays in “expanded” format.
