Paying Fines and Fees
The Fine and Lost Item Payment function lets you view your fines/fees history (fines/fees assessed against your account and payments made). You can pay outstanding fines and fees to your library using your PayPal account or by credit card using SmartPAY.
NOTE: The PayPal and SmartPAY features are available only if they have been enabled by your library. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can create an account during the payment process.
To view your Fines and fees history:

Select Your Transactions – Fine and Lost Item Payment from the
Your Account menu (see
Using Your Account
for details).
- The Fine and Lost Item Payment screen displays. The screen shows your fine/fee balance as of the current calendar date, and includes a transactions list showing all fines and fees assessed against your account, and all payments you have made.
- Each line in the list shows the Date on which the fine or fee was assessed, the Type of transaction, the Amount Due (initial amount accessed minus Amount Paid). the Due Date for the item (If a fine was assessed against an overdue or lost item), the Amount Paid to date, and the transaction Comments (description of the fine/fee, or title of the item against which fines were assessed).
- By default, the transactions list shows only those fines and fees that are currently active (for which payment has not yet been made). Use the drop-down menu to view all fines/fees (both active and paid) or active (unpaid) fines/fees only.
To pay fines and fees using PayPal:
- Select Your Transactions – Fine and Lost Item Payment from the
Your Account menu (see
Using Your Account
for details).
- The Fine and Lost Item Payment screen displays. The screen shows your fine/fee balance as of the current calendar date.
- The Amount to be paid field shows the total amount of fines and fees currently assessed against your account.
- The E-Payment Processing Fee field shows the fee your library charges for processing payments made through PayPal.
- The Total field shows the total amount of the transaction (Amount to be paid plus E-Payment Processing Fee).
- If you don’t wish to pay the full amount due at this time, enter the
amount you wish to pay in the Amount to be paid text box.
- Enter the amount you wish to pay in dollars and cents, without
the dollar sign; e.g., “10.00.”
- The Total field adjusts automatically to reflect your changes to the Amount to be paid.
- Enter the amount you wish to pay in dollars and cents, without
the dollar sign; e.g., “10.00.”
- When the desired Amount to be paid has been entered, click the
PayPal button.
- The PayPal “Login” screen displays in an additional browser window.
- Log into your PayPal account to complete the payment transaction.
- If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can create an account from the PayPal “Login” screen.
- When the payment transaction has been completed, close the Paypal window to return to the Your Account screen.
- Click your user name to close the Your Account screen and return to the previous screen, or click the Home button in the Your Account menu to return to your library’s “Home” page.
To pay fines and fees using SmartPAY:
- Select Your Transactions – Fine and Lost Item Payment from the

- The Fine and Lost Item Payment page displays. The Fine Lost Item Payment page shows your fine/fee balance as of the current calendar date.
- The Amount to be paid field shows the total amount of fines and fees currently assessed against your account.
- The E-Payment Processing Fee field shows the fee your library charges for processing payments made through SmartPay.
- The Total field shows the total amount of the transaction (Amount to be paid plus E-Payment Processing Fee).
- If you don’t wish to pay the full amount due at this time, enter the
amount you wish to pay in the Amount to be paid text box.
- Enter the amount you wish to pay in dollars and cents, without
the dollar sign; e.g., “10.00.”
- The Total field adjusts automatically to reflect your changes to the Amount to be paid.

SmartPAY button.
- The SmartPAY “Login” screen displays in an additional browser window.
- Log into SmartPAY using your library Card Number and PIN to
complete the payment transaction.
- The SmartPAY “Home” page displays.
- Select the Pay Fines/Fees tab to view a list of fines and fees registered against your account. Follow the on-screen instructions to process your payment.
- When the payment transaction has been completed, select the Log Out tab, then close the SmartPAY window to return to the Your Account screen.
- Click your user name to close the Your Account screen and return to the previous screen, or click the Home button in the Your Account menu to return to your library’s “Home” page.
