Modifying Serials Permissions

When you add a new user and assign Serials Staff permissions (see Adding a User for details), or when you click the Serials Permissions link on the Edit User Accounts screen (see Editing User Accounts for details), the Serials Permissions screen displays. The Serials Permissions screen shows the Serials permissions currently granted to the user. You may grant or deny additional permissions as desired.

To modify Serials Permissions:

Permission Definition
Checkin Allows the user to check in issues for a new or continuing subscription.
Subscription Setup Allows the user to create a new serial subscription, or change/edit an existing serial subscription.
View All Checkin Allows the user to view a list of all active subscriptions, and selectively check in issues.
Claiming Allows the user to view the Claiming submenu. User may be selectively granted permissions for the following functions:

Extract Claims

Allows the user to extract claims for missing or damaged issues for a selected library location, or for all library locations.

Review Claims

Allows the user to review extracted claims and delete selected issues, if desired, prior to submitting the extracted claims for approval.
File Maintenance Allows the user to view the File Maintenance submenu. User may be selectively granted permissions for the following functions:

Vendor

Allows the user to create and maintain a vendor record for each vendor from which your library receives serials.

Routing

Allows the user to create and maintain Routing Lists that can be selectively associated with individual serials subscriptions.
Add Brief Record Allows the user to add a brief bibliographic record to the library’s database.
