Chapter 6. FOR AUTHENTICATED USERS
Suspending Holds
If you will be unable to pick up reserved items for a period of time, you can suspend one or more holds until a specified date. You can also cancel the suspension for one or more holds.
NOTE: You cannot suspend the hold for titles currently on “Checkout Reserve.”
To suspend selected holds:

Select Your Items – Items on Hold from the Your Account menu
(see Using Your
Account for details).
- The Items on Hold screen displays. The total number of currently active holds for your account is shown at the top of the screen.
- The Items on Hold screen shows a listing of all items for which you have requested a hold or that are currently reserved for checkout for your account.
- Click the Date Entry Calendar

for the item for which you wish to suspend the hold to select the date to
which the hold will be suspended (see
Using the Date Entry
Calendar for details).
The current calendar date is selected by default.
- The selected date is entered in the associated text box automatically.
- Click the Suspend Hold button for the item for which you wish to
suspend the hold.
- The confirmation message “1 reserve(s) suspended” shows briefly at the
top of the screen.
NOTE: If you have not specified a “suspend until” date, the advisory message “select a date” shows briefly at the top of the screen. Enter a “suspend until” date as described in step 2.
- The Items on Hold screen refreshes to replace the Place in Queue field for the associated item with the Suspended Until field, showing the specified “suspend until” date.
- The confirmation message “1 reserve(s) suspended” shows briefly at the
top of the screen.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to suspend additional holds.
- To exit the Items On Hold screen, select another option from the Your Account menu, or, click the Home button in the screen header to return to your library’s “Home” page.
To unsuspend selected holds:
- Select Your Items – Items on Hold from the Your Account menu
(see Using Your
Account for details).
- The Items on Hold screen displays. The total number of currently active holds for your account is shown at the top of the screen.
- The Items on Hold screen shows a listing of all items for which you have requested a hold or that are currently reserved for checkout for your account.
- Click the UnSuspend Hold button for the item for which you wish to
unsuspend the hold.
- The confirmation message “1 reserve(s) unsuspended” shows briefly at the top of the screen.
- The Items on Hold screen refreshes to replace the Suspended Until field for the associated item with the Place in Queue field, showing your “place in line” for the item.
- Repeat step 2 to unsuspend additional holds.
- To exit the Items On Hold screen, select another option from the Your Account menu, or, click the Home button in the screen header to return to your library’s “Home” page.
To suspend all holds:
- Select Your Items – Items on Hold from the Your Account menu
(see Using Your
Account for details).
- The Items on Hold screen displays. The total number of currently active holds for your account is shown at the top of the screen.
- The Items on Hold screen shows a listing of all items for which you have requested a hold or that are currently reserved for checkout for your account.
- Click the Date Entry Calendar

at the top of the screen to select the date to which holds will be
suspended (see
Using the Date Entry Calendar
for details).
NOTE: The current calendar date is selected by default.
- The selected date is entered in the associated text box automatically.
- Click the Select/Clear All checkbox to select or unselect
all items.
- A checkmark indicates all items are selected.
- An empty checkbox indicates all items are unselected.
- Clicking the Select/Clear All checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
- Click the Suspend Hold button at the top of the screen.
- The confirmation message “(# of holds) reserve(s) suspended”
shows briefly at the top of the screen.
NOTE: If you have not specified a “suspend until” date, the advisory message “select a date” shows briefly at the top of the screen. Enter a “suspend until” date as described in step 2.
- The Items on Hold screen refreshes to replace the Place in Queue field for each selected item with the Suspended Until field, showing the specified “suspend until” date.
NOTE: If the hold for a title is currently suspended, the Suspended Until date for the hold is changed to the newly specified “suspend until” date.
- The confirmation message “(# of holds) reserve(s) suspended”
shows briefly at the top of the screen.
- To exit the Items On Hold screen, select another option from the Your Account menu, or, click the Home button in the screen header to return to your library’s “Home” page.
To unsuspend all holds:
- Select Your Items – Items on Hold from the Your Account menu
(see Using Your
Account for details).
- The Items on Hold screen displays. The total number of currently active holds for your account is shown at the top of the screen.
- The Items on Hold screen shows a listing of all items for which you have requested a hold or that are currently reserved for checkout for your account.
- Click the Select/Clear All checkbox to select or unselect
all items.
- A checkmark indicates all items are selected.
- An empty checkbox indicates all items are unselected.
- Clicking the Select/Clear All checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
- Click the Unsuspend Hold button at the top of the screen.
- The confirmation message “(# of holds) reserve(s) unsuspended” shows at the top of the screen.
- The Items on Hold screen refreshes to replace the Suspended Until field for each item with the Place in Queue field, showing your “place in line” for the item.
