Configuring TALKINGtech

You can specify the types of messages to be sent through TALKINGtech, specify the time of day at which messages are processed, and configure additional messaging parameters.

To configure TALKINGtech:

  1. image of Talking Tech Configuration ScreenFrom the Circ Admin menu, select TalkingTech Admin – Configuration.
    • The Talking Tech Configuration screen displays.
    • The screen is pre-filled with the current configuration parameters.
  2. Use the Message Types Sent checkboxes to select the type(s) of messages to be sent through TALKINGtech; Reserve Pickup, Pre-Overdue, Overdue and/or Fine/Bill.
    • A checkmark image of selected checkbox indicates the associated message type is selected.
    • An empty checkbox image of unselected checkbox indicates the associated message type is not selected.
    • Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  3. Enter the name of your library in the Site Name text box.
  4. Use the User Branch Codes checkbox to indicate whether or not messages will include the branch with which the message is associated.
    • A checkmark image of selected checkbox indicates branch identification will be included in messages.
    • An empty checkbox image of unselected checkbox indicates branch identification will not be included in messages.
    • Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  5. Enter the email return address to be included in messages in the Email Return Address text box.
  6. Select the time of day at which you wish messages to be processed from the Time of Day to Run ‘hours’ and ‘minutes’ menus.

    DO NOT change the content of the Secure FTP Server Name or IP Address, FTP Login Username or FTP Login Password fields unless directed to do so by a TALKINGtech technical representative.

  7. When all necessary information has been entered, click the Submit button to save your changes.
