Chapter 7. SETTING CIRCULATION PARAMETERS
Item Status Management
You can create and modify user-defined item exceptions.
To create or modify item exceptions:

From the Circ Admin menu, select Circulation Parameters – Item Status
Management.
- The User Defined Exceptions screen displays.
- The User Defined Exceptions screen shows all current user-defined item exceptions for your library.
- The list of Standard Exceptions shown at the bottom of the screen shows the default (system-supplied) exceptions.
- If desired, you may:
- View statistics for User Defined Exceptions (see Viewing Item Exception Statistics for details)
- Print a copy of User Defined Exceptions (see Printing Circulation Parameters for details)
- Save a copy of User Defined Exceptions to your local workstation (see Saving Circulation Parameters for details)
- Email a copy of User Defined Exceptions to yourself or another staff member (see Emailing Circulation Parameters for details)
- Use the Add New Exception text boxes to add a new item exception.
- Enter the desired exception name in the first text box, and the Public Display label for the exception in the second text box.
- Select the desired OPAC Color Display for the exception.
- Click the Submit button to submit your changes.
- The User Defined Exceptions screen refreshes to display your changes.
- To rename a current item exception:
- Enter the new name for the exception in the appropriate Change To text box.
- If desired, enter a new public display label for the exception in the appropriate Public Display text box.
- If desired, select a new display color for the exception from the appropriate OPAC Color Display menu.
- Click the Submit button to submit your changes.
- The User Defined Exceptions screen refreshes to display your changes.
