CIRCULATION ADMINISTRATION
Chapter 7. SETTING CIRCULATION PARAMETERS
Setting Library Hours
The Library Hours option lets you set a schedule of "open" hours for any library, branch or collection. Library hours are used by the system in conjunction with the Calendar Setup (see Calendar Setup for details) in determining due dates and times for items with hourly loan periods.
NOTE: If you do not intend to assign hourly loan periods for any items in your library’s collections, it is not necessary to specify Library Hours.
NOTE: For ASP users only: If you specify Library Hours for any library, branch or collection in your VERSO system, and your library is located outside the Pacific Time Zone, you must also specify the appropriate Hourly Checkout Time Zone Adjustment (see Setting Circulation Options for details).
To access Library Hours:
- From the Circ Admin menu, select Circulation Parameters - Library Hours.
- The Modify Location Hours - Select Location screen displays.
- The Select Location screen shows an indentured listing of all currently defined libraries, branches and collections for your VERSO system. Locations for which one or more specific parameters have been specified are preceded by the notation “-- ACTIVE ->.”
- Parameters set at the library level serve as the default parameters for all branches and collections associated with that library. If specific parameters are not set for a given branch/collection or material type, VERSO uses the parameters set at the library level. Similarly, parameters set at the branch level serve as the default parameters for all collections associated with that branch. If specific parameters are not set for a given collection or material type, VERSO uses the parameters set at the branch level.
- If desired, you can reconfigure, sort and filter table content (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
-
From the Select Location screen, click the name of the library, branch or
