Managing Location Groups
The Manage Location Groups function lets you assign library locations to one or more defined location groups. For example, you might wish to assign all locations within your library that contain DVDs or VHS tapes to a common “videos” location group.
You can manage Location Groups only for the library under which you are logged in.
To access Location Groups:

From the Circ Admin menu, select Manage Location Groups.
- The Location Groups screen displays.
- The Location Groups screen shows all currently defined Location Groups for your library. Each group in the list shows the name of the Location Group with the number of locations assigned to the group shown in parentheses following the group name.
- Click the Expand Location Group
icon for a location group to expand the list of locations assigned to the
group.
- Click the Collapse Location Group
icon for an “expanded” location group to collapse the list of
locations assigned to the group.
- Click the Collapse Location Group
- From the Location Groups screen, you can choose to:
- Add a new Location Group
- Edit the name of an existing Location Group
- Manage locations for an existing location group
- Delete an existing location group
