CIRCULATION ADMINISTRATION
Chapter 6. SETTING UP NOTICES
Text Message Setup
Text Message Setup allows library patrons who have specified the Notification Preferences and/or Reserve Notification Preferences options in their User Record as SMS (see the User Administration User Guide for details) to be notified by text message when a reserved item is ready for pickup, an item currently on loan is due (or overdue), and if outstanding fines are registered against their accounts. The Text Message Setup function lets you define the content of text messages sent via SMS. SMS carriers are managed using the SMS Management function (see Short Message Service (SMS) Management for details). Text messages can be configured for Single messages (when a single notice is included in a text message to a given patron) or Multiple messages (when two or more notices are included in a text message to a given patron). Text messages can be defined for a selected library or for all libraries in your consortium.
NOTE: Text messaging support is a purchasable enhancement, and may not be available for all systems. Contact Auto-Graphics’ Sales and Marketing for more information.
NOTE: Message content is defined in an identical manner for Single and Multiple messages.
