Managing the “Shelving Cart”
For libraries that have enabled shelving cart” functionality, checked in items are given a status of “Available,” and the item location in Item Status (in the Circulation module) and item Status shown in Locations Information on “brief browse” lists and Full Record Displays (in the Search module) are appended with a specified notation (such as “On Shelving Cart”). The notation is removed automatically by the system after a specified number of days. The Items on Shelving Cart feature lets you view a list of all items currently designated as “on shelving cart,” and manually remove the “on shelving cart” designation for one or more items if desired.
To view items on the Shelving Cart:

From the Circulation menu, select Items on Shelving Cart.
- The Items on Shelving Cart screen displays.
- The screen shows a listing of all items currently designated as “on shelving cart,” and shows the Title and Author of the item, the date the item was checked in and placed on the cart (Date Created), the Date to be Removed from the cart, and the item Barcode.
- If desired, you can reconfigure, sort and filter list content (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
To remove items from the Shelving Cart:
- Select the Remove checkbox(es) for the item(s) you wish to remove from the
Shelving Cart.
- A checkmark indicates the associated item will be removed.
- An empty checkbox indicates the associated item will not be removed.
- Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
- To select the checkboxes for all items, click the Check/Uncheck All link. (Click again to deselect the checkboxes for all items.)
- Click the Submit button to remove the selected item(s).
- The View Items on Cart screen refreshes with the selected items(s) removed.
