Chapter 3. ITEM REPORTS
Circulation Turnover
Purpose: Provides an indication of collection usage (number of checkouts divided by collection size) for a specified period. The report can be generated for all locations or for a single selected location, or can be limited to items within a specified call number range.
Default Filename:
CIRCULATION_TURNOVER_(date)_(ID number).XLSX
Report Parameters:

Enter Start Date for Report (text box) – determines the starting date of
the period for which the report will be generated; enter the desired date using
the format MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "03/10/2001".
NOTE: Be sure to include the slashes "/" when entering the Enter Start Date for Report. Do not include alphabetic characters when entering the Enter Start Date for Report.
- You may also click the Date Entry Calendar icon next to the date entry text box to select a Start Date for Report using the Date Entry Calendar (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
- Enter Stop Date for Report (text box) – determines the ending date of the
period for which the report will be generated; enter the desired date using the
format MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "03/10/2001".
NOTE: Be sure to include the slashes "/" when entering the Enter Stop Date for Report. Do not include alphabetic characters when entering the Enter Stop Date for Report.
- You may also click the Date Entry Calendar icon next to the date entry text box to select a Stop Date for Report using the Date Entry Calendar (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
- Specify the location or call number range for which you wish to generate
the report:
NOTE: The Select Location and Call Number Range options are mutually exclusive. Only one option can be selected for a given report.
- Select Location (radio button/drop-down menu) – determines the specific
location for which the report will be generated; select the radio button and the
desired location.
NOTE: The Select Location menu lists all locations (libraries, branches and collections) that have been defined for your system. Locations are defined by your Library Administrator.
Select All to generate the report for items held by all libraries and all associated branches and collections.
Select a library to generate the report for items held by the selected library and all associated branches and collections.
Select a branch to generate the report for items held by the selected branch and all associated collections.
Select a collection to generate the report for items associated with the selected collection only.
- Call Number Range (radio button/text boxes) – determines the call number range for which the report will be generated; select the radio button and specify the desired call number range. Enter the starting call number in the first text box. Enter the ending call number in the second text box.
- Select Location (radio button/drop-down menu) – determines the specific
location for which the report will be generated; select the radio button and the
desired location.

The name of the report, the run date, and a summary of report parameters are shown at the top of the report. The Circulation Turnover report provides the following information for each location included in the listing:
- The LOCATION for which statistics are presented
- The TOTAL CIRCULATION doe the associated location
- The TOTAL # OF ITEMS doe the associated location
- The TURNOVER RATE (TOTAL CIRCULATION divided by TOTAL # OF ITEMS) for the associated location
