Chapter 3. ITEM REPORTS
New Holds Taken
Purpose: Provides a listing of reserves placed during a specified report period.
Default Filename:
NEWHOLDSTAKEN_REPORT_(date)_(ID number).XLSX
New Holds Taken Screen
Report Parameters:
- Sort By (drop-down menu) – determines the order in which the report will be sorted; select Date Hold Placed, Patron Name, Pickup Branch or Title.
- Enter Start Date (text box) – determines the starting date of the period
for which the report will be generated; enter the desired date using the format
MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "03/10/2001".
NOTE: Be sure to include the slashes "/" when entering the Enter Start Date. Do not include alphabetic characters when entering the Enter Start Date.

next to the date entry text box to select a Start Date using the Date
Entry Calendar (see the
System Basics User Guide
for details).

- Enter Stop Date (text box) – determines the ending date of the period for
which the report will be generated; enter the desired date using the format
MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "03/10/2001".

To view the New Holds Taken report:
NOTE: See Viewing and Downloading Reports to download and/or open the report for viewing.
The name of the report and selected transaction type, the run date, and a summary of report parameters are shown at the top of the report. The New Holds Taken report provides the following information for each title included in the listing:
New Holds Taken Report
- The date on which the hold was placed (HoldDate)
- The ReserveType (Title Level or Item Level)
- The Title and Author of the title on hold
- The Patron Barcode and Patron Name of the patron for whom the hold was placed
- The expiration date for the hold (ExpiredDate)
- Any Staff Notes or Patron Notes entered for the hold
- The designated pickup location for the hold (Pickup Branch)
