Chapter 4. BORROWER FUNCTIONS
Sending Unfilled/Retry Requests to Default Lenders
If your library is not configured to automatically send ILL requests to your designated “default” lenders following the Preferred Lender List (or System Wide Lender List, when enabled) (see Configuring the “Default” Lender Lists for details), you can select to send requests with a status of Unfilled or Retry to your library’s “default” lenders.
For any ILL Request that ends in Unfilled status where:
- The request has been sent to valid lenders included in the borrower’s
local Lender Lists and:
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
or
The request has not been sent to ISSI lenders - The Send to ISSI option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- A Send to (custom lender list) option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The Send to Default option is selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
- The system automatically forwards the ILL Request to your library’s “default” lenders.
For any ILL Request that ends in Unfilled status where:
- The request has been sent to valid lenders included in the borrower’s
local Lender Lists and:
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
or
The request has not been sent to ISSI lenders - The Send to ISSI option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- A Send to (custom lender list) option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The Send to Default option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
- The request is processed as described under ILL Status Definitions for Unfilled status (see Borrower’s ILL Status Definitions or details) depending on the action taken by the borrower.
For any ILL Request that ends in Retry status where:
- The request has been sent to valid lenders included in the borrower’s
local Lender Lists and:
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
or
The request has not been sent to ISSI lenders - The Send to ISSI option is not selected from the Status menu on the Retry Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- A Send to (custom lender list) option is not selected from the Status menu on the Retry Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The Send to Default option is selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
- The system automatically forwards the ILL Request to your library’s “default” lenders.
For any ILL Request that ends in Retry status where:
- The request has been sent to valid lenders included in the borrower’s
local Lender Lists and:
- The Automatically resend requests in Retry option in the borrower’s Participant Record (see Maintaining Participant Records for details) is set to Yes
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders
for details),
or
The request has not been sent to ISSI lenders - The Send to ISSI option is not selected from the Status menu on the Retry Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- A Send to (custom lender list) option is not selected from the Status menu on the Retry Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The Send to Default option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The system forwards the request to lenders that provided a Retry response once the Resend Retry requests after ___ days period specified in the borrower’s Participant Record (see Maintaining Participant Records for details) has expired.
For any ILL Request that ends in Retry status where:
- The request has been sent to valid lenders included in the borrower’s
local Lender Lists and:
- The Automatically resend requests in Retry option in the borrower’s Participant Record (see Maintaining Participant Records for details) is set to No
- The request has been sent automatically or manually to ISSI lenders (see
Sending
Unfilled/Retry Requests to ISSI Lenders for details),
or
The request has not been sent to ISSI lenders - The Send to ISSI option is not selected from the Status menu on the Retry Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- A Send to (custom lender list) option is not selected from the Status menu on the Retry Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The Send to Default option is not selected from the Status menu on the Unfilled Status Browse List for the request or from the Status Options menu on the Full Record Display for the request
- The request is processed as described under ILL Status Definitions for Retry status (see Borrower’s ILL Status Definitions for details) depending on the action taken by the borrower.
