Chapter 2. SCOPING
Scoping Levels
Scoping levels are used to create “subsets” of the member libraries within your consortium or collective. The system is provided with a preset scoping level of All Libraries. All libraries in your consortium or collective are members of this scoping level. You can specify an essentially unlimited number of additional scoping levels, to which you may assign any member library. For example, you may wish to create a scoping level for your library (2nd scoping level) and one for all libraries in your school district (3rd scoping level).
The heading you assign to each scoping level should be descriptive of the libraries included in the level. Using the above example, you may wish to assign the headings “My Library Only” (2nd scoping level) and “District Libraries” (3rd scoping level) to the new scoping levels.
When patrons specify a scoping level other than All Libraries in their search criteria, the system will return only those titles held by libraries that are members of the specified scoping level.
