Configuring Weblinks

Web Links options let you enable and disable display of web links defined through the PAC Administration module (see the PAC Administration User Guide for details) based on user type (Guest, Patron or library Staff) and configure the manner in which web links are displayed in the Search interface.

To configure Web Links Options:

  1. From the Search and Results Options menu, select Web Links.
    • The Web Links Options page displays.

  1. Use the Display Web Links Option On Separate Tab checkboxes to enable or disable display of web links on a separate tab in the Search interface for Guest, Patron and library Staff, as desired.
    • A checkmark checkmark indicates a “web links” tab will be shown in the Search interface for the associated user type.
    • An empty checkbox checkbox indicates a “web links” tab will not be shown in the Search interface for the associated user type.
    • Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  2. Use the Display Web Links on Choose Resources Screen checkboxes to enable or disable display of web links in the Resources menu in the Search interface for Guest, Patron and library Staff, as desired.
    • A checkmark checkmark indicates web links will be shown in the Resources menu in the Search interface for the associated user type.
    • An empty checkbox checkbox indicates web links will not be shown in the Resources menu in the Search interface for the associated user type.
    • Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
  3. If one or more Display Web Links on Separate Tab checkboxes have been selected, enter a name for the “web links” tab in the Web Link Tab Label text box.
    • The Web Link Tab Label can be a maximum of 20 characters, including spaces.

    NOTE: If you select one or more Display Web Links on Separate Tab checkboxes but do not enter a name for the “web links” tab in the Web Link Tab Label text box, a “blank” tab will be shown in the Search interface.

  4. If desired, enter text to be shown on the “web links” page in the Web Link Page Text text box.
  5. When all desired options have been configured, click the Save button to save your changes.
    • The message “Success” shows briefly at the top of the screen.
  6. Click the Back button Back Button, as needed, to return to the Settings menu.
  7. Click the X button to close the Settings menu.
