Setting Footer Options

Use the Footer Options function to customize the content of the “footer” shown on all screens in the system.

NOTE: For RESEARCHit/SHAREit systems: Customer SuperUsers can configure the footer for global use, for local use only, or for use by multiple selected libraries. The Footer Options function is not available to Library SuperUsers.

NOTE: For VERSO systems: Customer SuperUsers can configure the footer for global use, for local use only, or for use by multiple selected libraries. Library SuperUsers can configure the footer for use by the library under which they logged in only.

To add a footer:

  1. From the Design Options menu, select Footer Options.
    • The Edit Footer Layout page displays.

  1. Configure usage settings for the footer as appropriate:

    NOTE: The Settings for Footer field is available to Customer SuperUsers only.

    • Click the Expand Properties icon Expand Properties icon to expand the Settings for Footer field.
    • Use the Set global footer checkbox to configure the footer for global display.
      • A checkmark checkmark indicates the footer is configured for global use.
      • An empty checkbox checkbox indicates the footer is not configured for global use.
      • Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
    • If the Set global footer checkbox is not selected, use the Select Libraries menu to select the libraries at which the footer will be used.

      NOTE: To select all libraries in the Select Libraries menu, click the Select All link.

      • Click the Expand Libraries icon Expand Libraries icon to open the Select Libraries menu.
      • Use the checkboxes to select the libraries at which the footer will be used. A checkmark checkmark indicates the footer will be used at the associated library. An empty checkbox checkbox indicates the footer will not be used at the associated library. Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
      • When all desired libraries have been selected, click outside the Select Libraries menu to close the menu.

      NOTE: To use the footer at the library under which you logged in ONLY, leave all checkboxes in the Select Libraries menu unselected.

    • Click the Collapse Properties icon Collapse Properties icon to collapse the Settings for Footer field.
  2. If necessary, mouse over the highlighted area on the Edit Footer Layout page and click Add New Row.
    • The Add Row panel opens.

  1. Click the desired template in the Add Row panel.
    • The Add Row panel closes, and the selected template is shown on the Edit Footer Layout page.
  2. If desired, repeat steps 3 and 4 to add additional rows to the footer.
    • To delete a row from the footer, position the cursor below the row you wish to delete, then click Delete Previous Row.
      • The confirmation message “You have just deleted a row.” shows briefly at the top of the screen.

        NOTE: To restore the deleted row, click undo in the confirmation message before the message expires.

  3. Add components to the footer as desired (see Working with Components for more information).
  4. When all desired content has been added to the footer, click the Save Footer Settings button to save the footer.
    • A confirmation message shows briefly at the top of the screen, and the footer is added to all specified libraries.
  5. Click the X button to close the Edit Footer Layout page and return to the Staff Dashboard.

To edit a footer:

  1. From the Design Options menu, select Footer Options.
    • The Edit Footer Layout page displays.
  2. Edit the usage settings and content for the footer as desired.
  3. Click the Save Footer Settings button to save your changes.
    • A confirmation message shows briefly at the top of the screen, and the revised footer is applied to all specified libraries.
  4. Click the X button to close the Edit Footer Layout page and return to the Staff Dashboard.

To delete a footer:

  1. From the Design Options menu, select Footer Options.
    • The Edit Footer Layout page displays.
  2. Delete all content rows from the footer.
  3. Click the Save Footer Settings button to save your changes.
    • A confirmation message shows briefly at the top of the screen, and the footer is removed from all libraries to which it was applied.
  4. Click the X button to close the Edit Footer Layout page and return to the Staff Dashboard.
