Chapter 6. FOR AUTHENTICATED USERS
Viewing and Managing Search Alerts
Search Alerts can alert you to new items of interest added to your library’s catalog within a specified time period. You can configure recurring searches that are automatically performed by the system on a weekly basis. Search results are sent to the email address specified in your user account.
NOTE: You must have an email address saved in your user record to use the Search Alerts feature.
To view Search Alerts:

Select
Your Items – Search Alerts from the Your Account menu (see
Using Your Account for details).
- The Search Alerts screen displays. The screen provides a listing of all currently defined Search Alerts for your account.
- Each entry in the list shows the Search Alert Name, the date on which the Search Alert was created (Date Created) and (where applicable) the date on which the Search Alert was most recently delivered (Last Delivered).
- From the Search Alerts screen you can:
- Specify the day of the week on which you wish to receive Search Alert emails
- Click the Add Alert button to open the Advanced Search screen and add a new Search Alert (see Adding and Deleting Search Alerts for details)
- Delete an existing Search Alert
To set the Search Alerts delivery day:

On
the Search Alerts screen, select the day of the week on which you wish to
receive Search Alert email notifications from the Delivery menu.
NOTE: If you wish to disable delivery of email notifications for a period of time, select Disable from the Delivery menu.
- The Search Alerts Confirmation Dialog displays.
- Click the Agree button to accept your library’s Search Alerts terms
and conditions. (Click Cancel if you do not agree with your library’s
Search Alerts terms and conditions.)
- The Search Alerts Confirmation Dialog closes, and the message “Search Alert settings updated” shows briefly at the top of the screen.
NOTE: You must accept your library’s Search Alerts terms and conditions in order to receive Search Alert notifications via email.
To execute an existing Search Alert:
- Click the
Search icon
for the desired Search Alert.
- The Search Summary screen for the Search Alert displays when the search is submitted (see Chapter 3, Viewing Search Results for more information).
