Chapter 2. REPORTS
By Day and Hour
Purpose: Provides the total daily check-out count, the weekly average of items checked-out and the average count of unique patrons for a specified time period. This report is intended to provide insight into peak hours of library operation.
Report Parameters:
Circulation By Day and Hour Screen
- Library (drop-down menu) determines the library for which the
report will be generated; select All Libraries to generate the report
for all libraries in your system, or, select one or more
individual libraries, as desired.
- A checkmark
indicates
the associated library is selected. An checkbox
indicates the
associated library is not selected. Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will
toggle it on and off.

- Branch (drop-down menu) determines the branch for which the
report will be generated; select All Branches to generate the report
for all branches for the current Library selections, or, select
one or more individual branches, as desired.
NOTE: The Branch menu lists all branches defined for the current Library selection(s).

indicates the associated branch is selected. An checkbox
indicates the associated branch is not selected. Clicking a checkbox
repeatedly will toggle it on and off.

- Date Range (drop-down menu) determines the time period for which the report will be generated; select Last Week, Last Month, or Last Year, as desired.
To view the Circulation By Day and Hour report:
Report data is displayed as a line graph, and includes a textual summary of statistics.
Circulation By Day and Hour Graph
- The line graph shows a separate line for each day of the week on which
at least one circulation transaction occurred during the specified date
range. Each node on a given line indicates the number of unique
circulation transactions that occurred on the associated day of the week
during the specified date range. A legend for the line graph is shown to the
right of the graph.
- The report summary provides the following information for each entry in
the listing for the specified date range:
- The one HOUR period (e.g., 7 AM = 7:00:00 AM to 7:59:59 AM) during which the associated checkout transaction(s) occurred
- The number of checkouts that occurred for during each one HOUR period listed on each day of the week (Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun)
- The Total # of Checkouts for each one HOUR period listed, rounded down to the nearest integer
- The Total # of Patrons to which items were checked out for each one HOUR period listed, rounded down to the nearest integer
- The Avg. # of Checkouts for each one HOUR period listed, rounded down to the nearest integer
- Totals (rounded down to the nearest integer) are shown at the bottom of the summary
