Zero Circulation Purchasing by Collection Type
Purpose: Provides the total quantity, dollar value, zero circulation count, and zero circulation percentage of items that were purchased within the selected period. The pie chart provides a breakdown of zero circulation items by their collection type. This report is intended to provide insight into the efficiency of purchasing in relation to item usage.
Report Parameters:
- Library (drop-down menu) – determines the library for which the
report will be generated:
For Customer SuperUsers (when logged into the customer-level account for your VERSO system):
- Select All Libraries to generate the report for all libraries in your system, or, select one or more individual libraries, as desired. A checkmark indicates the associated library is selected. An empty checkbox indicates the associated library is not selected. Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
- Branch (drop-down menu) – determines the branch for which the
report will be generated; select All Branches to generate the report
for all branches for the current Library selections, or, select
one or more individual branches, as desired.
NOTE: The Branch menu lists all branches defined for the current Library selection(s).
- A checkmark indicates the associated branch is selected. An checkbox indicates the associated branch is not selected. Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
- Date Range (drop-down menu) – determines the time period for which the report will be generated; select from Last Month through Last 60 Months, as desired.
To view the Collections – Zero Circulation Purchasing by Collection Type report:
Report data is displayed as a “pie” graph, and includes a textual summary of statistics.
- The “pie” graph shows a separate “wedge” for each collection type where the number of items purchased during the specified time period for the selected Library and Location that have not circulated is equal to at least one percent of the total items purchased during the time period that have not circulated, and indicates the percentage of items associated with each collection type. Collection types where items purchased that have not circulated is less than one percent of the total items purchased during the specified time period that have not circulated are combined under the heading Other. A legend for the “pie” graph is shown to the right of the graph.
- The report summary provides the following information for each entry in
the listing:
- The Collection Type to which statistics apply
- The total # of Items purchased during the specified time period for the associated Collection Type
- The Item $ Value for all items purchased during the specified time period for the associated Collection Type
- The total number of items that did not circulate during the specified time period (# of Zero Circ) for the associated Collection Type
- The total value for all items that did not circulate during the specified time period (Zero Circ $ Value) for the associated Collection Type
- The percentage of the total # of Items purchased that did not circulate during the specified time period (Zero Circ %) for the associated Collection Type
- Grand Totals are shown at the end of the summary.
