Chapter 1. INTRODUCTION
The User Admin Menu
The User Admin menu provides access to features and functions related to administration of your library's database of authenticated users.
To access the User Admin Menu:

Click the Staff Dashboard link on any screen in the Search
interface.
- The Staff Dashboard screen displays. The Dashboard displays all staff menus available for your user account.
- The User Admin menu provides access to the following options:
- Add a User – Lets you add a new authenticated user (patron or staff member) to your library’s user database (see Adding a User for details).
- Maintain RPA Error Codes – Lets you define “block” codes (provided by your library’s remote ILS) that will prevent patron access to the system (see Maintaining RPA Error Codes for details).
- Edit User Accounts – Lets you edit or delete an existing user record in your library’s user database (see Editing User Accounts for details).
- Import User Accounts – Lets you import a user records file (prepared externally) into your library’s user database (see Importing User Records for details).
- Define Valid IP Ranges – Lets you define valid IP ranges for workstations within your library through which “generic” patron access to the system will be allowed (see Defining Valid IP Ranges for details).
- Configure User Record – Lets you configure the content and arrangement of the default user record for your consortium or collective (see Configuring the User Record for details).
NOTE: The Configure User Record function is available only to Customer SuperUsers.
- Self Registration Management – Lets you enable and configure the “self-registration” feature that allows new users to “self-register” an account with your library (see Setting Self Registration Options for details).
- User Registration Duplicate Checking – Aids in minimizing the occurrence of creating more than one user record for a given patron (see Configuring User Registration Duplicate Checking for details).
- User Reports – Lets you generate database reports for your library’s user database (see Generating User Reports for details).
NOTE: Customer SuperUsers may generate user database reports for any library in a consortium or collective (see Generating User Reports for details).
- Search IP Ranges – Lets you generate a listing of all libraries that have configured a specified IP range as valid using the Define Valid IP Ranges function (see Searching IP Ranges for details).
NOTE: The Search IP Ranges function is available only to Customer SuperUsers.
- Patron Categories –Allows for broad classification of your library's patrons (Staff, Student, Juvenile, etc.) (see Patron Categories for details).
NOTE: The Patron Categories function is also associated with the optional ILL Request Limits feature that lets you create and maintain one or more Patron Categories to which patrons may be assigned for the purpose of restricting the number of ILL requests a patron may have active at any given time.
NOTE: The ILL Request Limits feature is optional, and may not be enabled for all systems. The ILL Request Limits feature is available only for libraries that have enabled the optional Circ-ILL functionality.
- Patron Groups – Allows for classification of library patrons based on a defined commonality appropriate to your library (see Patron Groups for details).
- Default User Password – Lets you specify a default user password to be applied to all new user records (patron and staff) that are created in the VERSO Circulation or User Administration modules (see Setting the Default User Password for details).
- Staff Login Management – Lets you allocate the number of simultaneous staff logins allowed at each library in your consortium or collective (see Staff Login Management for details).
NOTE: The Staff Login Management function is optional and may not be enabled for all systems. The Staff Login Management function is available only to Customer SuperUsers.
- Staff Seats Management – Lets you view the number of staff members currently logged in at each library in your consortium or collective (see Staff Seats Management for details).
