Chapter 6. SETTING UP NOTICES
Reserve Pickup Notice Setup
The Reserve Pickup Notice is selectively sent by email (through the Circulation module) to a patron when an item for which a hard reserve has been placed is available for pickup.
NOTE: You can configure a unique Reserve Pickup Notice for each location in your VERSO system.
To set up the Reserve Pickup Notice:

From the Circ Admin menu, select Notices - Reserve Pickup Notice Setup.
- The Edit Reserve Pickup Notification screen displays.
- Select the location for which you wish to edit the Reserve Pickup Notice
from the For menu.
- The For menu lists all currently defined locations for your system.
- The Home Location for your user account is initially selected by default from the For menu.
- Enter or edit the Reserve Pickup Notification header information in the
Notice Header field.
NOTE: Text in the Notice Header is included with all Reserve Pickup Notices.
- The Notice Header field contains a 5-line arrangement of text boxes, into which you will enter or edit the text for the Reserve Pickup Notice header.
- Enter or edit the text for the Reserve Pickup Notice header in the
Line 1 through Line 5 text boxes, as desired.
NOTE: Text will not automatically wrap from one line to the next. Use the Tab key to move from line to line.
- Enter or edit Reserve Pickup Notice text in the Notification Text field.
- Complete the appropriate Email Notice Setup information:
NOTE: To send Reserve Pickup Notices via email, the Email option in the User Record for each patron to whom a notice will be sent must be enabled (see the User Administration User Guide for details).
- Enter a subject for the email notice in the Email Notice Subject text box.
- Enter the name of the appropriate library staff member or department in the Email Notice From Name text box.
- Enter the desired email address from which the notice will be sent in the Email Notice From Address text box.
- If you wish copies of all Reserve Pickup Notices sent to library patrons via email to be sent to a library staff member (to confirm transmission of notices), enter the email address to which you wish the copies sent in the CC Email Address text box.
- If you wish to set a delay between the time that an item is placed on
Checkout Reserve for a patron and the time that the Reserve Pickup
Notification is sent to the patron, select the desired delay time, from 0
to 168 hours, from the Number of hours to delay sending hold
notice menu.
NOTE: The Number of hours to delay sending hold notice value is also applied when sending Reserve Pickup Notices using the Global Reserve Pickup Notices function in Circulation Reports (see the Circulation Reports User Guide for more information).
- Click the Submit button to save your changes to the Reserve Pickup Notice to your library’s database.
