Chapter 7. SETTING CIRCULATION PARAMETERS
Setting a Library Schedule
The Library Schedule function provides a means of entering recurring "closed" days or extended vacation periods.
To access the Library Schedule screen:
- On the Library Calendar Setup screen, select the library for which you
wish to set a schedule from the Select Location menu.
NOTE: The Select Location menu lists all libraries and branches defined for your VERSO system.
- Use the Apply Calendar to all branches checkbox to indicate whether
or not changes made to the calendar setup will be applied to all branches
in the system.
- A checkmark indicates changes to the calendar will be applied to all branches in the system.
- An empty checkbox indicates changes to the calendar will be applied to the library chosen from the Select Location menu only.
- Clicking the checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
- Click the Set a Library Schedule link.
- The Set a Library Schedule screen displays in an additional browser window.
To add "closed" days:
- From the Select Open/Closed status menu, select Closed.
- In the Select date range text boxes, enter the Start and End dates for
which you wish to add "closed" days.
- Enter dates using the format MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "01/01/2019".
NOTE: Be sure to include the slashes "/" when entering the Start and End dates. Do not include alphabetic characters when entering the Start and End dates.
- You may also click the Date Entry Calendar icon next to the Start and End date text boxes to select dates using the Date Entry Calendar (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
Examples:
- If you wish to indicate the library is closed every Monday during the year, enter 01/01/2019 as the Start date and 12/31/2019 as the End date.
- If you wish to indicate the library is closed for summer vacation, enter the starting and ending dates for the vacation in the Start and End text boxes.
- Enter dates using the format MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "01/01/2019".

From the Select Day-of-Week menu, select the day of the week you wish to mark as "closed".
Examples:- If you wish to indicate the library is closed every Monday during the year, select Monday from the Select Day-of-Week menu.
- If you wish to indicate the library is closed every day during summer vacation, select All from the Select Day-of-Week menu.
- Click the Submit button.
- The calendar screen refreshes to show the added "closed" days.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 to add additional "closed" days.
- When all desired "closed" days have been added, click the Close button to close the Library Schedule screen and return to the Calendar screen.
To remove "closed" days:
- From the Select Open/Closed status menu, select Open.
- In the Select date range text boxes, enter the Start and End dates for
which you wish to remove "closed" days.
- Enter dates using the format MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "03/10/2001".
NOTE: Be sure to include the slashes "/" when entering the Start and End dates. Do not include alphabetic characters when entering the Start and End dates.
- You may also click the Date Entry Calendar icon next to the Start and End date text boxes to select dates using the Date Entry Calendar (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
Example:
- If you wish to indicate the library is open every Monday during the year, enter 01/01/2001 as the Start date and 12/31/2001 as the End date.
- Enter dates using the format MM/DD/YYYY, i.e., "03/10/2001".

From the Select Day-of-Week menu, select the day of the week you wish to mark as "open".
Example:
- If you wish to indicate the library is open every Monday during the year, select Monday from the Select Day-of-Week menu.
- Click the Submit button.
- The calendar screen refreshes to show the removed "closed" days.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 to remove additional "closed" days.
- When all desired "closed" days have been removed, click the Close button to close the Library Schedule screen and return to the Library Calendar Setup screen.
