Chapter 3. MANAGING PATRONS
The Lost and Claims Return Items page (see Viewing Lost and Claimed Returned Items for details) lets you convert a “lost” item to “claimed returned” status, and convert a “claimed returned” item to “lost” status.
To convert a “lost” item to “claimed returned” status:

On
the Lost and Claims Return Items page, click the Patron Lost
button in the Status column for the desired title.
- The Lost to Claimed Returned dialog displays.
Lost to Claimed Returned Dialog
- The dialog shows the Item Barcode and Title of the item to be converted.
- Click the Yes button to continue with the conversion. (Click the
No button to cancel the conversions and close the dialog without changing
the item status.)
- The status of the item changes from Patron Lost to In Claimed Returned.
- The system removes the following fines and fees from the patron’s record
as appropriate:
- Lost item cost
- Lost item fee
- The overdue fine (if any) remaining on the patron’s record
NOTE: All financial transactions related to the conversion are itemized in the patron’s record on the Fines and Fees screen (see Viewing Fines History for details).
To convert a “claimed returned” item to “lost” status:

the Lost and Claims Return Items page, click the In Claimed Returned
button in the Status column for the desired title.
- The Claimed Returned to Lost dialog displays.

- The dialog shows the Item Barcode and Title of the item to be converted.
- Click the Yes button to continue with the conversion. (Click the
No button to cancel the conversions and close the dialog without changing
the item status.)
- The status of the item changes from In Claimed Returned to Patron Lost.
- The system assesses the following fines and fees against the patron’s
record as appropriate:
- Lost item cost
- Lost item fee
- Overdue fines (if any)
NOTE: All financial transactions related to the conversion are itemized in the patron’s record on the Fines and Fees screen (see Viewing Fines History for details).
