Overriding a Hard Block
If the patron’s outstanding fine balance exceeds the Hard Block Fine Limit established by your Library Administrator (see the Circulation Administration User Guide for details), the message “You cannot continue with this patron” displays at the top of the Patron Warning screen. If desired, you can override the Hard Block to continue with the current checkout transaction.
To override a Hard Block:
- Enter the Hard Block override password in the Password text box, then click
the Override Block button.
- The Patron Warning screen closes, and you may continue with normal checkout transactions.
NOTE: If you enter an incorrect password, an advisory dialog displays the message “Invalid Password.” Click the OK button on the advisory message to return to the Patron Warning screen. Re-enter the Password, and click the Override Block button to continue.
