Statistic Update Only Checkouts

Some libraries do not catalog individual titles for certain material types (such as paperback books or magazines), but wish to track circulation statistics for such material types. The Material Types function available through the Circulation Administration module supports this functionality by allowing a material type to be designated for "statistics update" only (see the Circulation Administration User Guide for details).

When items designated as "statistics update" only are checked out, the Group Checkout dialog displays. The quantity of items checked out (# of pieces) is recorded for statistical purposes, but the individual titles are not tracked, and due dates are not assigned for the items.

NOTE: The # of pieces entered for a given checkout cannot exceed 999.
