If a patron will be unable to pick up reserved items for a period of time,
you can “suspend” reserves for the patron. If an attempt is made to place a
reserve for a patron with “suspended reserves,’ the message “Reserves has been
suspended for this user” is shown on the Reserve a Title (for “soft” reserves)
or Temporary Transfer to Reserve Location (for “hard” reserves) screens. You
must remove the suspension before a reserve can be placed. Once the suspension
is removed, titles may once again be reserved for the patron.
To suspend reserves:
Access the Patron Checkout, Status, & Reserves screen for the desired
patron (see Viewing Patron Status for details), and select the
Reserves tab.
The
Reserves page displays.
Use the checkboxes to select the reserve(s) you wish to suspend.
A checkmark
indicates the reserve is selected.
An empty checkbox
indicates the reserve is not selected.
Clicking a checkbox repeatedly will toggle it on and off.
Click the Select All button to select all checkboxes.
Click the Clear All button to unselect all checkboxes.
Click the Suspend Reserves button.
The
Suspend Reserves screen displays.
Click the Date Entry Calendar icon
to enter the date to which reserves will be suspended in the Suspend
selected reserves until text box (see the System Basics User Guide
for details). By default, the Suspend selected reserves until
text box shows the current calendar date.
Click the Suspend button to complete the suspension and return to
the Reserves page.
The Hold Date field for the selected reserves refreshes to show
the Not Active Until date selected in step 4.
NOTE: If a selected reserve is currently suspended, the Not
Active Until date for the reserve is changed to the newly specified “not
active until” date.
NOTE: If you have not selected at least one reserve to suspend, an
advisory dialog shows the message “Please select reserves.” when you click the
Suspend button. Click the OK button to close the dialog and
return to the Reserves page. Repeat steps 2 through 5, selecting
at least one reserve to suspend.
To remove a suspension from the Patron Checkout, Status, & Reserves screen:

selecting at least one reserve to unsuspend.
To remove a suspension from a Reserve a Title (for “soft” reserves) or
Temporary Transfer to Reserve Location (for “hard” reserves) screen:
Click the Remove Suspension link. The item may now be reserved for
the patron.
