Chapter 2. CHECK OUT AND CHECK IN
Viewing Reserved Items
Click the Reserves tab at the top of the Patron Checkout, Status & Reserves screen to display the Reserves page. The Reserves page lists all titles for which a “soft” reserve has been placed for the patron. Reserves are initially listed in chronological order (oldest reserve first).
NOTE: The Reserves tab includes a parenthetical notation that shows the number of active “soft” reserves for the patron.
The Reserves page provides the following information for each title for which a “soft” reserve has been placed:
-
Title – the title of the item for which the “soft” reserve was placed for
the patron
- Click a Title link to view a list of related items for the associated title.
- Author – the author of the associated title
- Volume – the volume of the associated title (where applicable)
- Pickup location – the location from which the reserved item, when available
for checkout, may be picked up
- The Pickup location field provides a menu of all pickup locations defined for your system. Pickup locations are defined through the Circulation Administration module (see the Circulation Administration User Guide for details).
- Reserve Order – the patron’s “place in line” if multiple “soft” reserves are placed for the title
- Hold Date – the date on which the “soft” reserve was placed
- Expiry Date – the date on which the “soft” reserve will expire
- If the reserve has expired, the Hold Date field shows the message Expired, followed by the date and time at which the reserve expired. If desired, click an Expired link to reactivate the reserve (see Reactivating an Expired Reserve for details).
- Patron Note – any patron note included with a reserve request
- Item Barcode - the item barcode for the associated item (for item level reserves only)
- Staff Note – any staff note included with a reserve request
- Notes – allows library staff to add or edit reserve notes (see Working with Reserve Notes for details)
NOTE: The Reserves field provides the facility for removing a reserve for any title for the current patron (see Deleting “Soft” Reserves for details).
If desired, you can reconfigure, sort and filter list content (see the System Basics User Guide for details).
