Chapter 8. CATALOGING FUNCTIONS
Adding a New Bib Record
You can add a new bibliographic record to your library’s main database.
To add a new bib record:
- Access the Catalog Search screen (see Accessing Catalog Maintenance for details).
- Click the New Bib Record button.
- The AGEdit MARC Editor launches and displays a “blank” MARC record to allow for creation of a new bibliographic record (see the AGEdit MARC Editor User Guide for procedures to add and edit bibliographic records).
- When the record has been edited and saved, click the browser’s “Back”
button to return to the Catalog Search screen.
- If your changes have not been saved, an advisory dialog displays the
message “You have unsaved changes. Do you want to continue?”
- Click the Cancel button to return to the AGEdit MARC Editor and save your changes.
- Click the OK button to discard your changes and return to the Catalog Search screen.
- If your changes have not been saved, an advisory dialog displays the
message “You have unsaved changes. Do you want to continue?”
