Chapter 8. CATALOGING FUNCTIONS

   

 


Adding a New Bib Record

You can add a new bibliographic record to your library’s main database.

To add a new bib record:

  1. Access the Catalog Search screen (see Accessing Catalog Maintenance for details).
  2. Click the New Bib Record button.
    • The AGEdit MARC Editor launches and displays a “blank” MARC record to allow for creation of a new bibliographic record (see the AGEdit MARC Editor User Guide for procedures to add and edit bibliographic records).
  3. When the record has been edited and saved, click the browser’s “Back” button to return to the Catalog Search screen.
    • If your changes have not been saved, an advisory dialog displays the message “You have unsaved changes. Do you want to continue?”
      • Click the Cancel button to return to the AGEdit MARC Editor and save your changes.
      • Click the OK button to discard your changes and return to the Catalog Search screen.
