Chapter 4. MARC IMPORT AND EXPORT
MARC Import and Export - Overview
The MARC Import functions let you upload, read, validate and post bibliographic records (in MARC format), obtained from sources outside the VERSO system, to your library's database. Additionally, if the MARC records you are loading contain item data, and the item generation feature is enabled, the system will create item records as well (see Import Item Generation Setup for details).
The MARC Export function lets you export bibliographic records (in MARC format) from your library’s database to a file on your local workstation. You may select to output MARC records for all titles in your library's database, or for a subset of titles based on the date added/edited, location or materials type.
