Chapter 1. INTRODUCTION
The Staff Functions Menu
The Staff Functions menu is shown in the left column of all Full Record Displays. The menu provides access to features and functions available to library staff.
To use the Staff Functions menu:

Features and functions related to CAT Administration available through the
Staff Functions menu are described below:
- Download Record - Lets you download the currently displayed record, in MARC 21 format, to a local workstation (see Downloading Single Records for details).
- Add to Download Cart - Lets you add the currently displayed record, in MARC 21 format, to the Download Cart for your user account (see Downloading Multiple Records for details).
- Add Locations - Lets you add a location to the currently displayed record (see Adding a Location for details).
- Edit Locations - Lets you modify existing locations for the currently displayed record (see Editing Locations for details).
- Delete Locations - Lets you delete existing locations from the currently displayed record (see Deleting Locations for details).
- Authorize Bib Record - Performs authority control processing for
the currently active bibliographic record (see the
Authority Control User Guide for more
information).
NOTE: Authority Control is optional and may not be enabled for all systems.
- Copy Cataloging – Lets you use a record retrieved from a Z39.50
target to create and add a bibliographic record to your system’s database (see
Creating Copy Cataloging
for details).
NOTE: The Copy Cataloging function is not available for records retrieved from AG databases.
NOTE: The Copy Cataloging function is optional and may not be enabled for all systems.
- Edit Bib Record - Launches the AGCat client to allow for editing of the current bibliographic record (see the AGCat Client User Guide for more information).
