Chapter 5. PATRON INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Patron Interlibrary Loan - Overview
The system provides four options for submitting interlibrary loan requests; the ILL Request Form (accessed from a Full Record Display), the 3rd Party Request (accessed from a Full Record Display), the Blank ILL Request (accessed from any screen in the Search interface) or the OpenILL request. Interlibrary loan requests can be initiated by library staff and, if authorized, by library patrons and guests. The system provides the ability for patrons to track the status of their in-process ILL requests.
NOTE: Interlibrary loan features are available for patron use only if your library has set the authorization.
This chapter provides the procedures to:
- Prepare and submit an interlibrary loan request using the Blank ILL Request form
- Prepare and submit an interlibrary loan request from a Full Record Display
- Prepare and submit an OpenILL
Request from an external third-party site
NOTE: OpenILL functionality is optional, and may not be supported by all systems.
