Chapter 5. PATRON INTERLIBRARY LOAN
Viewing Items from Other Libraries
The Items from Other Libraries screen lists up to 200 currently active ILL requests for your account.
To view Items from Other Libraries:
- Use the scroll bar to scroll through the display.
- For summaries which contain more than one request, requests are initially listed in alphabetic order by Title, with a separate entry shown for each request.
- If your library has established ILL Request Limits, the left column of the
screen shows the number of requests you have submitted during the current time
period, and the number of additional requests you can submit during the
time period (see
ILL Request Limits for details).
- If desired, use the Sort By menu to re-sort the list.
- You can sort the list by Title, Author, Pub Year (year of publication) Request ID or Request Date.
- Each entry in the list includes the Title, Author and Pub Year (year of publication) for the requested item. The Status field shows the current status of the request.
- Request details include the request ID number, the Date Requested (the date on which the request was placed), the Need By date for the requested item, and the Due Date (the date by which you must return the item to your library) for the item.
NOTE: The Due Date is shown if your library has enabled the functionality. When enabled, the Due Date is shown only for items that have been received by your library from the lending library.
- For new requests: The Due Date is added to the Items from Other Libraries screen when your library receives the item from the lending library.
- For renewal requests: The new Due Date is added to the Items from Other Libraries screen when your request for renewal is accepted by the lending library.
- Depending on the current status of the request, the Need By field may include a Date Entry Calendar, allowing you to change the date by which you need the requested item (see Using the Date Entry Calendar for details).
NOTE: This feature is optional and may not be enabled for all systems.
- The Pickup Location field shows the library location where you can pick up the requested item when it has been received by your library.
- Depending on the current status of the request, the Pickup Location field may allow you to change the Pickup Location for the requested item.

- For items provided in digital format (such as when filling a
Non-Returnable (copy) request):
- One or more links are shown below the Pickup Location. A description of the attachment (if provided) and the file name are shown for each attachment. Mouse over the Information icon to view the Upload Date, the final date on which the file can be downloaded (Expires Date) and the number of Downloads Remaining.
- Click the Download File icon or file name link for a file to download the file (see Viewing and Downloading File Attachments for details).
- Use the scroll bar to scroll through the display.
- If desired, you can “hide” one or more requests in the list.
- To hide an ILL request, click the Hide button for the desired request.
- To show all ILL requests, click the Show Hidden Requests button. The message “request successful” shows briefly at the top of the screen.
- Depending on the current status of the request, a Cancel Item button may be included, allowing you to cancel the ILL request (see Canceling ILL Requests for details).
- If your library has enabled the “Mediated Patron Renewal Requests” option, you can submit a request to renew the loan for an item from the Items from Other Libraries screen (see Submitting a Mediated Patron Renewal Request for details).
- Click the Home button in the banner to return to your library’s “Home” page.
